In a dynamic and unforgettable weekend, Year 11 students embarked on a thrilling residential adventure at PGL Newby Wiske, fully funded by the academy. This remarkable trip was designed to build teamwork and unity in preparation for their pivotal year ahead— the final stretch before the GCSEs.
From Friday to Sunday, students found themselves immersed in a series of thrilling adventure activities, promoting friendship and resilience. Activities included climbing, archery, laser quest, and a high jump challenge. These experiences not only tested their physical abilities but also enhanced their problem-solving skills and encouraged teamwork.
The excitement didn't stop when the sun went down. Evening events were equally entertaining and included games, karaoke sessions. The laughter and camaraderie during these sessions created unforgettable memories that will surely last a lifetime.
To top it all off, students were treated to a special performance by the new Head of Year, Mr Brindle, and our Director of Student Engagement Mr. Harter, showcasing hidden talents that left everyone in awe.
The Year 11 students returned from their PGL adventure with a renewed sense of unity and determination. The bonds forged during this trip will undoubtedly serve them well as they embark on their important year of study and prepare for their GCSEs.
We extend our gratitude to the academy staff for their support in making this trip possible. The memories created at PGL Newby Wiske will serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for Year 11 as they tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
