This term, our Key Stage 4 students had an unforgettable learning experience with Frontline Living History, exploring the GCSE topic Medicine Through Time (1250-Present) in a truly immersive way.
The workshop allowed students to engage with genuine historical artefacts, including medieval surgical tools, wartime weapons, ammunition, artillery shells, and grenades. They also had the unique opportunity to try on gas masks, gaining a real sense of the challenges faced by soldiers and medics throughout history.
A huge thank you to David from Frontline Living History for delivering such a hands-on and engaging session, helping to make history feel real and relevant for our students.
One student summed up the experience perfectly: "This was the sickest History lesson ever!"
Other students shared their excitement:
- "Who knew History could be this exciting?"
- "Trying on the gas masks was incredible!"
- "I loved seeing the medieval surgical tools up close."
We look forward to more exciting learning opportunities like this in the future!
