Welcome from the Head Teacher

It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the Headteacher at The Hyndburn Academy. It is a privilege to have been appointed by United Learning and entrusted with the job of leading such a fantastic group of students and staff.

I know that when we all work together, our school thrives. I'm excited to meet all the parents, carers, and collaborate with our local community. There are exciting times ahead and the children have a wealth of opportunities in store to guarantee that they progress through school as happy and successful individuals. My relentless focus will be on ensuring that every single student reaches their full potential in every lesson, every day.

Our school is sponsored by United Learning – a group of schools which aims to provide excellent education to children and young people across the country. As a United Learning academy, we seek to improve the life chances of all the children and young people we serve and make it our mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’ – students, staff, parents and the wider community.  Uniquely, United Learning includes significant numbers of schools in both the public and the private sectors, working together for mutual benefit.

Whilst academic success is very important, here at The Hyndburn Academy we also believe that there is more to a good education and actively seek to provide opportunities and experiences that help our students become more confident, well-rounded and ambitious young adults. We call this Education with Character - an education that challenges, inspires and excites our students and prepares them for the challenges of life. Our curriculum and co-curricular programmes directly support this, with a wide variety of activities and experiences available to our students.

We are confident that our commitment to high quality teaching and learning will continue to raise standards at The Hyndburn Academy and we have high aspirations for all our students. Whether you are a parent looking for an excellent school for your child or a teacher looking to progress your career, I hope that what you read here encourages you to find out more about our academy.

If you would like to visit the Academy, please do not hesitate to contact us.
